Lagu yang sungguh kekejuan ini ajaibnya meyihir saya dan saya berani terima tantangan karaoke lagu ini sambil membelakangi layar tv.

Sejujurnya, lagu ini dihapalkan dengan khidmat menyambut naik haji jamaah Bonjoviniyah di Ancol, May 1995. Ga hanya lagu Bed of Roses, lagu-lagu lain lancar dinyanyikan dari mulai Runaway, Lay Your Hands on Me, Livin’ on a Prayer, Never Say Goodbye, In These Arms, Someday I’ll be Saturday Night; dan tentu saja lagu yang bikin radang tenggorokan; ‘Shot through the heart and you’re too bad, darling you give love a batman!’; Tapi untuk meme kali ini saya pilih Bed of Roses saja. Enak buat dinyanyiin dan saya suka sekali liriknya.

Ehem. Ini sebenernya saya yang norak kali ya. Karena sejujurnya perlukan kuulangi lagi, saya suka sekali lirik lagu Bed of Roses. Bukan bagian; ‘I wanna laaaayyy you down on a bed of roses..’; karena bagian ini sungguh gombal, kebayang kalo ketusuk duri mawar. Bagian favorit saya adalah, ‘A king’s ransom in dimes I’d give each night to see through this payphone.’t; Yeah, I know, curcol keseringan LDR :P

Lagu ini ada di album Keep the Faith, album Bon Jovi favorit saya. Pertama karena pada warsa ini Jon Bon Jovi potong rambut dan membuat si sayah abege naksir berat. Kedua, saya suka sekali lagu Keep the Faith, dengan melodi menghentak dan lirik yang sangat positif. Ketiga, si sayah abege yang hopeless romantic (sampe sekarang ding) tentu saja termehe-mehe membayangkan Jon main piano sambil menyanyikan lagu ini. ‘About all of the things that I long to believe. About love, the truth, what you mean to me and the truth is, baby you're all that I need.’ *klepek klepek*

Sayang semenjak album Crush, saya bosan dengan Bon Jovi. Entah kenapa, hati dan otak ogah mencerna lagu-lagunya. Mungkin Bon Jovi memang kehilangan sentuhan midas pada lagu-lagunya atau saya yang berubah selera. Yeah, people change, everything change. Tapi ada satu yang berubah dari diri saya dan membuat saya semakin menyukai lirik Bed of Roses ini. Menurut saya, cowok yang sedang hangover itu seksi ;)

Baiklah, silahkan menikmati Bed of Roses lewat YouTube yang saya sematkan di atas. Sengaja saya pilih versi ‘An Evening with Bon Jovi’ dimana di awalnya Jon cerita sedikit tentang lagu ini. Dan tentu saja, ehm, di mata saya, Jon ganteng sekali dengan rompi hitamnya itu. Dan yang ini hanya berubah dikit.
